The Historical Community of Ampelakia is within walking distance from the valley of Tempi, 5 km from the highway at the foot of Kissavos. Ampelakia became known around the world, mainly for the establishment of the first cooperative in the world in 1778, called “Common Company of Ampelakia” and their main activity was the production, processing, dyeing and trade of red thread .
